ASMA provides complete water quality monitoring solutions employing state-of-the-art instrumentation to continuously and manually monitor the major pollutant found in surface water, groundwater and marine water.
ASMA was awarded a 20+2 years concession to design, build, operate and maintain a network of ambient water quality monitoring stations from 1995 till 2017. ASMA has installed 15 continuous river water quality monitoring (CWQM) stations and has taken over and refurbished thousands of river manual water quality monitoring (MWQM) stations.
ASMA also provides a complete range of services in surface water quality monitoring for assessing both management and control, strategies and options, as well as to assess the potential impacts arising from development activities such as those required in EIA studies.

Understanding how the lake functions, accessing general water quality and trends, and diagnosing lake problems are among the key objectives or purposes for monitoring. ASMA has the capabilities to achieve those objectives for our clients, and two of our key projects are:
Powered by nature, the Wave Glider is the only proven unmanned surface robot for real-time ocean data collection and communications over long durations and in varying sea states. Sitting on the surface, the Wave Glider is the essential seafloor-to-space link, creating a network to help solve some of the world's greatest challenges.
Collaborating with Liquid Robotic Inc (a Boeing Company), ASMA extends our services in oceanography, surveillance and environmental monitoring, providing a "Data Center in the Sea". On March 2016, ASMA has collaborated with INOS (Institut Oseanografi dan Sekitaran -University Malaysia Terengganu-UMT) in launching the wave glider in Pulau Bidong, Terengganu. Various data are collected, including current, wave, CTD, and weather.

Due to the system’s complexity, maintaining the required level of water quality in the potable water distribution system is challenging. It requires diligent attention from water treatment plant personnel and those in charge of the distribution. Numerous factors can cause changes or degradation in water quality.
Therefore, an appropriate monitoring technique is indispensable for detecting changes in water quality during distribution and at consumer taps. ASMA’s expertise in monitoring techniques contributes to the following benefits:

Monitoring the effluent quality of the waste stream is an essential activity to ensure effective environmental management for any wastewater generating industry. In addition to ensuring that the relevant regulations are adhered to, the monitoring activity allows for assessing the efficiency of the treatment plant.
